Professional Indemnity Insurance covers potential claims for losses incurred as a result of your negligence in connection with written or verbal training, advice, inspections or recommendations.
An example of when a claim could be made would be the arborist who writes a report saying that a tree’s roots are not going to damage the foundations of a house. If, at a later date, the foundations subside due to that tree, then a claim could be made against the arborist.
It’s important to note that a claim could occur at any time in the future, so it’s a good idea to consider maintaining cover for an indefinite period.
