This summer has arrived and we have already had two potential claims for damage to windows caused by strimming. Normally it’s a stone that flicks up and smashes a patio window or door.
This is one of the easiest claims to avoid simply by putting boards up in front of the glass. Insurance policy excess £500. Piece of board £20. Happy client – PRICELESS!
Importantly most insurance policies have a requirement to take reasonable care, otherwise your insurance may be void. Strimming close to a large unprotected patio door could leave you un-insured.
And before anybody asks why arborists and foresters are strimming – many people offer all round services. Some say that strimming and hedge cutting are more profitable than tree work.
Do you have experience of this? How do you prevent damage?
