The Bad News
Unfortunately, in August 2022, Ben, a 32-year-old contractor from Tunbridge Wells, suffered a serious injury at work following an accident with some machinery. This resulted in the amputation of a finger, and he has been unable to work since.
Silver Lining
Thankfully, Ben had arranged Personal Injury Insurance through us. A few months before his accident, we spoke to him to review his policy as his circumstances had changed – he was now Self Employed and had become a dad. To reflect his increased earnings and financial commitments we were able to substantially increase his cover.
Ben’s claim was paid in full by the insurer within 4 days of receiving all the information they required. The claim is ongoing, and Ben is continuing to be paid by the insurer. The good news is that Ben and his family have been able to focus on his recovery, rather than worrying about how to pay the bills!
To quote Ben
“Tree Surgeon Insurance and the insurer have been fantastic – I would recommend anybody who does a physical job to call these guys. I never thought it would happen to me, but it did!”
Ben’s story provides some important lessons:
- Accidents happen – we aren’t invincible.
- It’s important to review any policies you have when your circumstances change.
